Location is perfect right next to the beach, rooms are clean and spacious. The helper staff is helpful too. The restaurant is over priced and below average food. But the manager is extremely rude. This was our first stay at Srilanka and I had requested for a few hours extension for checkout at an empty hotel. The manager denied the request, which is fine but he was extremely rude in communication. He told us to go ahead and use open shower and public washroom that they had for the staff. When asked to pay, the rates for extension charged were exorbitant. This one experience was a put off to other wise warmth we experienced everywhere in Srilanka.

What a lovely hotel with a lovely staff. Was welcomed by staff Elil, who is super attentive and nice. I stayed at quite #12, great view to the beach. Room is simple, no hot water (no need I think!). But a pleasant stay. Food is a downside. But the stay and accommodation very good. I think its the only one in Upaveli so cheap and close to the beach.

We spent 3 nights there in august 2025. Perfectly located hotel, right on the beach, quiet yet close to restaurants. Lovely, always smiling and helpful staff. Excellent laundry service — 12 kg of clothes returned clean the next day for a very reasonable price. Tasty food and great fresh fruit cocktails. Table service can be slow, but this seems common in Trincomalee. Rooms are simple but clean, with good air conditioning and well-equipped bathrooms. Great value for money.

We have sadly just departed Golden Beach Hotel, after 3 wonderful days. You can not beat the location, right on the beach, and a short beach walk to the hub of food, and activities. Far enough away for quiet relaxation. Ravi, the owner and his beautiful team are so accommodating. Anything you need, they are on it, activity recommendations, transport and the amiable restaurant is fantastic for simple drinks and food. The fresh juices on the super hot days were very welcoming. The rooms are very clean, with great air-conditioning, and the beds are really comfortable. We are 2 Mum's travelling with our 16 year old daughters from Australia and we highly recommend Golden Beach Hotel. Special mention to staff member Ellal (probably not the correct spelling). His happy place is helping you ❤️🙏

Definitely recommended! We had an amazing stay there, everything you need. Room have AC and hot water. Location just on the beautiful peaceful beach with calm ocean. Staff is very friendly and useful. Very big and tasty Sri Lankan breakfast
