food doesnt taste at all. had a vegi fried rice and a devilled chixken..very poor taste. comparatively very expensive. fried rice portion is 550 lkr. devillwd chicken was 900.

Cheap and really near to beach , nice little restaurant. But had cockroaches in our room. We killed all them qith pertrol so should be safe now 😄

We've been to Unawatuna for Christmas 2014 for 3 days. Arrived late in the evening and were searching for a place to stay. B's place had available room's and location was really good, right on the beach. From the very beginning the manager (Asoka?) started bargaining from 6000 rupees per night, we agreed on 3000 rupees for a room without A/C for a period of 3-6 nights (were not sure how long we were going to stay). After two nights, we had a lunch at the restaurant when Asoka asked if he can talk to us, explaining that the price was actual only for 2 nights and the actual price becomes 3500 rupees (that is acceptable, but definitely not acceptable to change the initial agreement on the go). If we're not OK with the price he said, we can go away. During the lunch I heard him offering tourists absolutely different prices (from 4500 to 6000 rupees per night). I rejected his offer since understood that the price may change again any moment. As a result, we moved to another hotel. The most negative experience of the whole trip. Though, the location is really good - ocean is like 40 meters away. Stayed December 2014
