I used the cafe space on the side of the Tooth Temple. It was a small space with just a counter and two tables, but it was a very relaxing place. The menu prices are different between eat-in and eat-out. I tried rump rice and rice and curry. They were both delicious. The stuff was also kind and nice. I would like to use it again.

I recently visited Queens Pastry Shop in Kandy, expecting a good experience due to the hotel's reputation, but it was quite the opposite. I ordered a burger meal that cost 2200 LKR, but it wasn’t worth the price. The burger bun tasted stale, likely made a couple of days ago, and started breaking apart as I ate. The patty itself was fresh but hard, lacking any crispiness. For the price, I expected much better quality. The restaurant itself was also disappointing. It felt old and rundown, clearly lacking any recent renovation or maintenance. The tables weren’t cleaned properly; they were sticky, and the glass top edges were dangerously sharp. The lack of cleanliness was off-putting, and the entire space felt uninviting. Additionally, there was no parking available, which made things even less convenient. Thankfully, I didn’t order any drinks, as the food experience alone was enough to question the quality here. I usually avoid leaving one-star reviews, but in this case, I felt compelled. Queens Pastry Shop needs serious upgrades to prevent both locals and tourists from having similar disappointing experiences.

Queen's Pastry Shop in Kandy, Sri Lanka, still echoes its grand colonial past. Once likely a bar or tavern, it's now a pastry shop showing signs of neglect by the hotel management. The staff is few but friendly and welcoming. We tried egg hoppers for the first time and loved them. The milkshakes were incredible—truly out of this world. The menu is limited, with just a few curry dishes. If you're looking for delicious egg hoppers and rich, creamy milkshakes in a historic, albeit crumbling, setting, this is the place. I hope to visit again when it's in better condition

The worst restaurant I've ever stepped into. We came to Kandy for a visit and stepped into this café. We ordered their pot biryani for two, which was overpriced at around 2600. It didn't even come close to matching their poster. Their chicken piece was just a bone with nothing to eat on it. After complaining, they gave us a bit more, but it was just a good piece. This meal ruined our mood completely. We barely ate and left the food. The rice tasted like ordinary white rice with yellow coloring. Even their Pepsi bottle was about 350, while the actual price is 120. Totally disappointed with this restaurant.

We stepped in for lunch after being so hungry. I was mainly the person who was asking my family to go in to this place because of a YouTube review from a visiting blogger. Place has no good lighting and furniture is so old design and actually old that they will belong in museum in a another couple of years. There is stuff stuck under the glass without being cleaned from days of the kings. Service wise the floor manager is not doing a great job. Menus were not supplied on time and we had to get up and ask. If there were few good hosteses to take care of the visitors would have been great. Food wise, they did not disappoint. Pot meals were enjoyed by my wife and sister and taste was quite nice. They packed the leftovers in the pot it self for us to take home. I got the kottu and mom got the veg fried rice... both tasted very nice and the condiments/sauces were on point. Desserts we ordered were simple and sufficient for us but retrospectively value for money was less. We would definitely give another try in few years when we are back in Kandy. Hope the managment can push for changed while keeping nostalgia in place.
