Food is okay but the servers have no idea about serving sizes or even if the meals have meat in them they have no clue about them and why why in the world would you charge 2000 rupees for a juice. Y’all should be ashamed

Great cocktail menu and lovely food - much needed after the long train ride from Ella. Excellent service, especially given our big, chaotic table - thank you Lojini.

FB lunch was given here, the slowest service ever! Took almost 40 minutes to receive the soup. We were charged for late checkout since the lunch took so long!!

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant The Magnolia inside Grand Hotel in Nuwara Eliya in Sri Lanka. During my visit, I started with the smoked salmon, which was excellently prepared—well-smoked, perfectly seasoned, and salted just right. For the main course, I had the teriyaki salmon with rice and vegetables. While the flavors were good, the salmon was slightly overcooked. For dessert, I enjoyed a creative take on a classic Victoria sponge cake, accompanied by a raspberry macaron and lemon mascarpone cream. It was a delightful way to end the meal, with a perfect balance of sweetness and tang. As expected from a restaurant in a renowned hotel, the prices are on the higher side, but the quality of the setting and the food justifies it. The staff was professional and efficient, though their demeanor was a bit on the formal and reserved side, which could feel slightly cold. If you’re staying at the hotel, this restaurant is a good choice for a refined dining experience.
